US surgeons unveil 'quickie' breast enlargements

Date: 27/09/2007 12:02:07

Plastic surgeons from Texas arrived in the UK this week to unveil a new procedure allowing breast enhancement to be carried out in just 30 minutes.

The new approach was unveiled at the annual meeting of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (Baaps).

Surgery speed is due to detailed pre-surgery preparation, during which the breasts are measured exactly to allow tailor made implants to be pre-ordered.

Furthermore, the more precise shape of the implant allows incisions into the breast to be reduced, lowering the amount of anaesthetic required.

"The level of pain that our patients experience does not require any medications other than Ibuprofen which is available over the counter without a prescription," Dr Tebbetts told the Daily Mail.

"After the surgery we tell the women to go home and have a little nap, then get up after two hours, wash their hair, which helps them stretch their muscles, then go to dinner.

"Between 80 and 85 per cent of our patients go out on the evening of their surgery," he added.

Mr Tebbetts has already carried out 2,000 similar speedy procedures on women.
