New research has suggested that as many as nine out of ten UK office workers are stressed by their jobs.
Figures revealed by Badenoch & Clark have found that 92 per cent of office-based workers consider themselves to be stressed at work. Of those, 32 per cent admitted to often being stressed when working, while eight per cent said they were stressed all the time when at work.
"Stress in the workplace is not a new concept, but these latest figures are quite alarming," said Neil Wilson, managing director of Badenoch & Clark.
He added: "Employers need to consider the impact of stress on their employees and look at ways they can work together to help address the issue."
Mr Wilson suggested that businesses are the ones that are losing out because stress affects the productivity of a worker, as well as their attitude in the office.
"Every organisation needs an appropriate and well developed framework to prevent and tackle work-place stress," he concluded.
