Celebrity reveals bulimia problems

Date: 10/10/2007 09:43:14

Bulimia has been shown to affect people under all different types of strain, as a UK celebrity has become the latest addition to the list.

Chantelle Houghton, winner of Celebrity Big Brother, has admitted to suffering from the condition, reportedly claiming to hate 'feeling full'.

Concerns like this affect the many UK bulimia sufferers, who impose pressure on themselves to lose weight – the Celebrity Big Brother star said that losing weight was tempting as it was something she could control.

Relationship problems can often trigger unhappiness and put new strains on body and mind, with Chantelle claiming that the difficult break-up of her ten-month marriage led her to start vomiting and losing weight.

She is reported to have dropped two stone in weight as marriage to fellow Big Brother star and Ordinary Boys singer Samuel Preston hit the rocks.

People suffering from bulimia are often best to talk to a doctor and seek necessary medical advice, despite the sense of embarrassment that many feel around the condition.
