Botox 'not just popular with women'Date: 20/11/2007 11:02:20

More and more middle-aged men are plumping for Botox treatment to help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, it has been claimed.
According to a report in the Daily Mail, plastic surgeons are now reporting a surge in the number of men opting for the treatment, with levels climbing by a third in the last year alone.
Fillers - gels injected under the skin to plump up lips and smooth wrinkles - are now also proving a hit among men desperate to appear younger, with celebrity male fans including X Factor judge Simon Cowell and aging pop star Cliff Richard.
Speaking to the publication Savina O'Neill, of London Plastic Surgery Associates said clinics had witnessed a 'significant' increase in the number of male patients they have on their books.
"These anti-ageing measures are no longer just part of the woman's domain - most men are now aware of the long term importance of a good skincare regime, and appreciate a little external help when it's needed," she said.
The news coincides with the launch of 'botox in a jar' in the UK; an anti-aging eye cream which promises to reduce the signs of under-eye wrinkles in just seven minutes.
